You must get the recipient to act, and you must get them to act now!

Getting anyone to DO something isn’t easy. More often than not, the prospect or customer is busy. Other things are demanding their attention. In fact, responding is usually not convenient and they need to be pushed to take action.

The late, great copywriter Gary Halbert said, ‘you should pretend your prospect is a huge sloth of a man sitting in his chair’.

To get him to move one inch requires enormous effort. Your sales and marketing must be powerful enough to get him out of his comfortable seat and respond.

It’s very easy for your prospect to say to themselves, ‘I’ll reply tomorrow.’ But, as we all know, tomorrow often never comes!

Therefore, your number-one goal is to get a response now.

Your call to action is all-important in achieving this objective. Tests have proved that without a call to action your sales and marketing is likely to be 50% less effective – that’s how important the call to action is.
